Three Canggu months, priced
Three 30-day stays in Canggu, priced from the listings, the coworking price lists, the rental table and the government's own fee schedule on 25 September 2026.
The scooters are already moving past the rice fields in Berawa, and your month has a price you can write down. Three prices, really. The villa you pick sets almost everything else, and the gap between the cheapest and the dearest one on a single agency's list is wider than every other line on this page put together. 1
A lean month runs IDR 21,961,273. A comfortable one runs IDR 54,686,273. A luxury three-bedroom villa takes it to IDR 106,686,273. At Bank Indonesia's reference rate of IDR 17,917 to the dollar on 25 September 2026, that is about USD 1,226, USD 3,052 and USD 5,954. 7
| Line | Lean (IDR) | Comfortable (IDR) | Luxury (IDR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Island tourist levy, once | 150,000 | 150,000 | 150,000 |
| Visit visa, 30 days | 500,000 | 500,000 | 500,000 |
| Rent, Berawa, Canggu | 16,875,000 (1BR apartment) | 46,000,000 (2BR villa) | 95,000,000 (3BR villa) |
| Coworking | 1,350,000 (50 hours) | 3,300,000 (unlimited) | 3,300,000 (unlimited) |
| Scooter, 30 days | 1,850,000 (Lexi 155) | 3,500,000 (Nmax Turbo) | 6,500,000 (Xmax Tech Max) |
| Unlimited eSIM data, 30 days | 1,236,273 (USD 69.00) | 1,236,273 | 1,236,273 |
| Month total | 21,961,273 | 54,686,273 | 106,686,273 |
Each column is a real listing or a published plan, added exactly. The eSIM line converts USD 69.00 at IDR 17,917 to the dollar. Food, groceries, flights, insurance and the airport transfer are excluded from all three columns. 7, 4
Table view: Three Canggu months, in US dollars
| Item | Value (USD) |
|---|---|
| Lean, 1BR apartment | $1,226 |
| Comfortable, 2BR villa | $3,052 |
| Luxury, 3BR villa | $5,954 |
The middle column is nearly two and a half times the lean one, and the villa column almost five times. Every rupiah of that difference is rent and the choices that follow rent. Food, groceries and flights sit outside all three. Source: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Food is the line missing from that table, and its absence is deliberate. Bali's cheapest eating happens at warungs and market stalls, and none of them publish a menu. No food figure appears above for that reason. Set your own, spend for a week, then correct it.
What is a realistic Bali budget per day?
Divide the lean month by 30 and the day costs IDR 732,042, about USD 41. The comfortable month works out at IDR 1,822,876 a day, about USD 102. The luxury villa month reaches IDR 3,556,209, about USD 198. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
| Budget | Month (IDR) | Month (USD) | Day (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lean, 1BR apartment | 21,961,273 | 1,226 | 41 |
| Comfortable, 2BR villa | 54,686,273 | 3,052 | 102 |
| Luxury, 3BR villa | 106,686,273 | 5,954 | 198 |
Monthly totals divided by 30 days, converted at IDR 17,917 to the dollar on 25 September 2026 and rounded to the dollar. Food, groceries, flights and insurance are excluded. 7
A daily average flatters a long stay, because most of it is already committed. The villa is signed before you arrive. The desk, the scooter and the eSIM all arrive as 30-day plans. What actually moves day to day is food, coffee, fuel and entrance fees, and those are the lines you steer after you land.

Short trips pay a premium for the same access. A day pass at BWork in Canggu costs IDR 299,000, so seven of them come to IDR 2,093,000, more than the IDR 2,000,000 that buys a whole month of non-peak access at the same space. Monthly pricing is the quiet reason a 30-day stay beats two separate fortnights. 9
Bali monthly villa price: rent is the whole month
Rent is 77% of the lean month and 89% of the luxury one. Everything else here is small change beside it. On 25 September 2026 one agency's monthly list for Berawa ran from IDR 16,875,000 for a one-bedroom apartment to IDR 95,000,000 for a new three-bedroom villa, with three rungs in between. 1
| Listing | Monthly rent (IDR) | Terms shown on the card |
|---|---|---|
| 1-bedroom apartment (RF9543A) | 16,875,000 | 16 units offered at this price |
| 1-bedroom in a villa complex (RF11271A) | 35,400,000 | Minimum 3 months |
| 2-bedroom private villa, same complex (RF11271B) | 46,000,000 | Minimum 3 months |
| 3-bedroom, same complex (RF11271C) | 65,800,000 | Minimum 3 months |
| New luxury 3-bedroom villa (BHI1406A) | 95,000,000 | 1 unit; pets allowed |
Live agency listings on the research date. Prices change, and a named unit lets quickly. The cards showed no list of inclusions, so ask what the rent covers before you sign: electricity, water, pool service, staff and internet each appear on some Bali contracts and are billed separately on others.

|---|---|---|
| Rent, 1BR apartment | 16,875,000 IDR | 77% |
| Scooter, 30 days | 1,850,000 IDR | 8% |

| Unlimited eSIM data | 1,236,273 IDR | 6% |
| Visit visa, 30 days | 500,000 IDR | 2% |
| Island levy, once | 150,000 IDR | 1% |
The apartment is more than three quarters of the bill. Trade rent down and the total moves; trade every other line down at once and it barely notices. Source: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
The three-month minimum is the catch for a single month. All three listings in the villa complex ask for a 90-day term, which pushes a one-month visitor toward the standalone apartment or a nightly platform at a higher rate. Ask for a one-month price anyway; the term on a listing card is an opening position. 1
If the month is a working one, MMT prices the villas, desks and Wi-Fi together in Canggu for remote workers. For the version of this arithmetic that runs across a whole year and several bases, start with the geoarbitrage budget.
What do the visa and the tourist levy cost?
Two payments, two governments, IDR 650,000 between them for a 30-day stay. Bali's provincial government collects the IDR 150,000 levy once, and Indonesia's national immigration tariff prices a 30-day visit visa at IDR 500,000. Those two are the whole official bill for a straight month. 6, 5
| Payment | Amount (IDR) | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Bali tourist levy | 150,000 | Once per person on entry, since 14 February 2024 |
| Visit visa, 30 days | 500,000 | The visa most month-long visitors buy |
| Visit permit extension, 30 days | 500,000 | Bought inside Indonesia, taking the stay to 60 days |
| Visit visa, 60 days | 1,000,000 | The same total as 30 days plus one extension |
| Visit permit extension, 60 days | 1,000,000 | Listed on the same tariff table |
| Overstay | 1,000,000 a day | For an overstay of up to 60 days |
| Lifting an entry ban | 90,000,000 | After an overstay beyond 60 days or an unpaid fine |
These amounts come from a Directorate General of Immigration regional office's published copy of the national tariff under Government Regulation 45 of 2024, which applies island-wide. Confirm the fee on the portal you pay through.
Pay the levy before you fly
Bali's provincial government takes the IDR 150,000 levy through its Love Bali system before departure, or at the airport and seaport on arrival. Paying early removes one queue from the end of a night flight. 6
Buy the 30-day visa
The visit visa costs IDR 500,000 for 30 days. Decide before you land whether 30 days covers your plan, because the extension is a separate errand inside Indonesia at another IDR 500,000. 5
Have the scooter documents ready
One Canggu operator asks for a passport, the visa as a PDF, an international driving permit or an Indonesian licence, and a hotel booking. Photograph all four before you leave home, and arrange the driving permit weeks ahead. 3
Start the data plan in the terminal
Airalo's Indonesia eSIM runs 30 days of unlimited data for USD 69.00, and the 30 days begin at activation. Switch it on before you find the car, and the ride to Canggu is already mapped. 4
Canggu cost of living: the desk and the data
A desk in Canggu runs from IDR 1,350,000 to IDR 3,800,000 a month, and the price buys hours rather than comfort. Tropical Nomad sells 50 hours for IDR 1,350,000 and unlimited access for IDR 3,300,000. BWork sells the hours nobody competes for, 3 p.m. to 10 a.m., at IDR 2,000,000. 2, 9
| Plan | Space | Price (IDR) | What it gets you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard 50 | Tropical Nomad | 1,350,000 a month | 50 hours of Wi-Fi, 24/7 coworking access |
| Power 100 | Tropical Nomad | 2,200,000 a month | 100 hours |
| Unlimited Pass | Tropical Nomad | 3,300,000 a month | Unlimited access |
| Dedicated Premium | Tropical Nomad | 3,800,000 a month | A desk of your own |
| Non-peak monthly | BWork | 2,000,000 a month | Wi-Fi and coworking, 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. |
| Day pass | BWork | 299,000 a day | IDR 199,000 for Indonesian ID holders |
| Day pass | Tropical Nomad | 260,000 a day | 7-hour pass 200,000; weekend 350,000 a day |
Both price lists were read on 25 September 2026. BWork's full-access unlimited plan sits behind a page tab that did not render, so ask the space for that figure directly.
Do the break-even before you buy anything. Six Tropical Nomad day passes cost IDR 1,560,000, more than the IDR 1,350,000 that buys 50 hours, so the monthly plan wins from the sixth visit. A month with ten working days in it belongs on a monthly plan. A month with four belongs on day passes. 2
- Data is the one fixed line in the month. Airalo's Indonesia eSIM prices 30 days of unlimited data at USD 69.00, about IDR 1,236,273 at the 25 September reference rate. Shorter terms start at USD 11.00 for three days and USD 48.00 for fifteen. 4, 7
- Unlimited has a daily ceiling. Airalo's unlimited plans carry a daily high-speed allowance and slow down once you pass it. That allowance is not confirmed here, so read the current policy before you plan video calls around a phone. 4
- The cheapest desk hours are the awkward ones. BWork's non-peak month starts at 3 p.m. and runs to 10 a.m. the next morning for IDR 2,000,000, which suits anyone whose calls land in the evening. 9
- The villa's fixed line carries the work. Treat the eSIM as the backup for the hour the router sulks, and test the villa connection at your own working hour in the first two days.
What does a scooter cost for 30 days?
IDR 1,850,000 for a Lexi, IDR 6,500,000 for an Xmax Tech Max, on one Canggu operator's own price table on 25 September 2026. That is 3.5 times the price for the same 30 days inside a single shop, and the model decides it. The Nmax Turbo at IDR 3,500,000 sits in the middle of the list, one step up from the Nmax Neo and well under the Xmax. 3
| Model | 30 days (IDR) | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| Lexi 155cc | 1,850,000 | The cheapest monthly line on the list |
| Nmax Neo | 2,550,000 | One step up |
| Nmax Turbo / Tech Max 155cc | 3,500,000 | The mid-tier choice |
| Xmax Connected 250cc | 5,350,000 | Bigger engine, bigger bill |
| Xmax Tech Max | 6,500,000 | 3.5 times the Lexi |
The operator publishes these as 30-day prices with no deposit and insurance included, and adds on the same page that prices move with availability and season. Long rentals are charged per 30 days. Its own blog quotes a general range of IDR 1,500,000 to 4,500,000 a month including a pre-rental service, two helmets and free delivery. 10 Two other Canggu shops publish no prices as text at all, so this table rests on one operator.

The documents matter more than the model. The operator asks for a passport, the visa as a PDF, an international driving permit or an Indonesian licence, and a hotel reservation before a key changes hands. Arrange the driving permit at home, through your own licensing authority, weeks before you fly. 3
How far does the rupiah move in a month?
Bank Indonesia's JISDOR reference rate was IDR 17,917 to the dollar on 25 September 2026. 7 Budget in rupiah and the number holds still; budget in dollars and it drifts with every conversion between them.
| Rate | IDR per USD | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| JISDOR reference, 25 September 2026 | 17,917.00 | Bank Indonesia's spot-market reference rate |
| Bank Indonesia sell rate, 25 September 2026 | 17,987.49 | What its counter charges you for dollars |
| Bank Indonesia buy rate, 25 September 2026 | 17,808.51 | What its counter pays you for them |
Every dollar figure on this page converts at the 25 September JISDOR rate of IDR 17,917. The US Federal Reserve's daily foreign exchange release carries no rupiah line, so Bank Indonesia's own series is the reference used here.
A same-day counter spread of about 1% is noise. A move of 10% or more over a longer stay changes the plan, and MMT's exchange-rate risk worksheet runs that test on your own figures. For arrival, islands and the wider trip around this month, the Indonesia country guide is the place to start.
What this page leaves out, and why
Two lines stayed off the table, and both of them matter. Daily food is the first. Bali's cheap month lives at the warung and the market, and the stalls and small kitchens this page looked for publish nothing on their own sites, so no food figure appears above. Set a daily number, spend a week against it, then fix it.
The second is what the island itself decides. Balinese Hindu communities set the terms at their own temples, from dress to who enters on a given day, and Bali observes Nyepi, the day of silence, on a date fixed by the Balinese calendar. Those calls belong to the temples and the villages that keep them. Check Nyepi's date and a temple's own dress and entry rules with the Bali provincial government and the temple before you fix your dates.
- Food and groceries. Your own figure, tested in week one. It is the one line you can move every day, which is why it belongs to you rather than to this table.
- Flights and the airport transfer. Both move with the season and with which coast you sleep on.
- Insurance. Whether cover is required for a tourist visa on arrival stayed unconfirmed on an immigration page, so ask the portal you apply through.
- A buffer for day 31. A month that stretches past 30 days costs another IDR 500,000 and a trip to an immigration office. 5
One more comparison worth making before you commit the month to Canggu. A dive month on Bali's quieter east coast prices out differently, with boat fees and course prices in place of the coworking line, and MMT runs that arithmetic in Amed for a diving month.
Frequently asked questions
How much money do I need for a month in Bali?
For a 30-day stay in Canggu covering rent, a coworking plan, a scooter, 30 days of data, the visa and the island levy: IDR 21,961,273 on a lean plan, IDR 54,686,273 on a comfortable one, and IDR 106,686,273 in a luxury three-bedroom villa. At IDR 17,917 to the dollar on 25 September 2026 that is about USD 1,226, USD 3,052 and USD 5,954, with food and flights on top. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
What is a cheap daily budget for Bali?
The lean month above averages IDR 732,042 a day, about USD 41, before food. Most of that is the apartment, committed the day you sign, so the figure you actually steer each day is much smaller. Price the month first and read the daily number as a result of it. 1, 7
Can I stay longer than 30 days on a visa on arrival?
Yes. A 30-day visit permit extends for another 30 days for IDR 500,000, bought inside Indonesia, and the same tariff table prices a 60-day extension at IDR 1,000,000. A 60-day visit visa also costs IDR 1,000,000, the same as 30 days plus one extension. 5
Do I pay the Bali tourist levy every month?
No. It is charged once, on entry, and stays paid however many days follow. The IDR 150,000 levy has applied since 14 February 2024, but the exemption list and validity window stayed unreadable on the official portal, so confirm your own case there before you travel. 6
Why do Canggu villas ask for a three-month minimum?
Ask for a one-month price before you rule a complex out: the term on a listing card is an opening position. All three complex listings in the table above carry a 90-day term, which is how an agency fills a unit with less turnover, and it is why a single month usually goes to the standalone apartment or a nightly platform instead. 1
Is a coworking membership worth it for one month?
Count the days you will actually turn up. Past five, the monthly plan wins at both spaces: six Tropical Nomad day passes cost more than its 50-hour month, and seven BWork day passes cost more than its non-peak month. 2, 9
Do I need a scooter for a whole month?
Picking the model decides the bill more than picking the shop: one Canggu operator prices a Lexi at IDR 1,850,000 and an Xmax Tech Max at IDR 6,500,000 for the same 30 days, a 3.5 times spread. Sort the documents before you shop, since the desk asks for a passport, the visa as a PDF, an international driving permit or an Indonesian licence, and a hotel booking. 3
Should I budget in rupiah or in dollars?
In rupiah. Every price on this page is quoted in rupiah and holds still there, while a dollar figure drifts with each conversion. Bank Indonesia's JISDOR reference rate was IDR 17,917 to the dollar on 25 September 2026: convert once, at the end, and note the rate date. 7
