The most famous beach club in Seminyak charges nothing to walk in until 4pm, and a one-bedroom villa month starts at IDR 17.5 million. Here is what the rest of the town costs.

THE SHORT VERSION
  • Potato Head charges nothing to walk in for most of the day. A cover of IDR 200,000, about USD 11.16, applies only from 4:00pm to 6:30pm, and it comes back to you in selected drinks. 1, 2
  • Mrs Sippy prices the water, not the door. Pool Club entry is IDR 150,000 a head, about USD 8.37, towel included. The Sports Bar and the non-pool seating are free. 3, 2
  • A one-bedroom month starts at IDR 17.5 million, about USD 977, and a live beachside listing sits at IDR 18,750,000, about USD 1,046. Add a deposit of one month's rent on top. 4, 2
  • Jalan Laksmana, the street listed as Eat Street, runs five to ten minutes inland from the sand. Ku De Ta sits at its beach end. The Petitenget clubs are a ride. 4, 5
  • One traveller lands for IDR 825,000, about USD 46.05: IDR 500,000 for the visitor visa, IDR 150,000 for the tourist levy and IDR 175,000 for a fixed-price transfer, charged per transfer rather than per head. 6, 7, 8, 2

The shape of Seminyak

Seminyak sits between Kuta and Canggu, and that is the whole pitch. Kuta is the easier run for the airport, the shopping and southern Bali. Canggu holds the cafes, the coworking desks and beach clubs of its own. Seminyak sits in the middle, close to both, so neither one decides your week. 4

The town reads as three strips, and the rental market names them. One hugs the sand. One runs inland along a single restaurant street. One spreads out around a main road, quieter, cheaper per bedroom. Pick the strip first. Everything else on this page follows from that choice. 4

  • Beachside and Center. The stretch closest to the sand and Seminyak's main square, and a five to ten minute walk from Ku De Ta. 4
  • Oberoi. Built along Jalan Laksmana, nicknamed Eat Street, five to ten minutes inland, thick with restaurants, boutiques and nightlife. 4
  • Residential Side. Around Sunset Road, quieter and more spread out, with no beachfront premium on the rent and a drive to the water. 4

Ku De Ta has been open on the sand here for more than two decades, at Jalan Kayu Aya No.9, daily from 8am until late. It is the landmark the rest of the map hangs off. 5

What do Seminyak beach clubs charge to get in?

Three of the best-known clubs, read from their own sites on 26 September 2026. Two print an entry price. One prints none.

Potato Head, at Jl. Petitenget No.51B, is free to enter for most of the day, with seating and no minimum spend. From 4:00pm to 6:30pm a cover charge of IDR 200,000 applies at the door, redeemable for selected drinks. That window is the sunset hour, which is why it carries a price. 1

The club opens at 10am every day. It closes at midnight Sunday through Thursday and at 2am on Friday and Saturday. Arrive at 3pm and the door costs nothing. Arrive at 4:30pm and it costs about USD 11.16. 1, 2

Mrs Sippy, in the Petitenget cluster north of Seminyak proper, charges for the pool instead of the door. Pool Club entry is IDR 150,000 per person and includes towel hire, about USD 8.37. Sports Bar guests and anyone staying out of the water walk in free. The dress code is casual pool attire. 3, 2

Ku De Ta publishes no entry price and no minimum spend on its own site. What it does print is a rotating promotion: four Aperol Spritz for IDR 700,000++ from Monday to Wednesday, noon to 3pm. That works out to IDR 175,000 a glass, about USD 9.77, before tax and service. 5, 2

Potato Head's cover is redeemable for selected drinks, can change for special events, and seating can be reserved online in advance. Mrs Sippy's entry includes towel hire. Ku De Ta's promotion runs Monday to Wednesday, noon to 3pm, and rotates; four Aperol Spritz are IDR 700,000++, about USD 39.07, or IDR 175,000 a glass. Where do you eat in Seminyak?

Seminyak's eating happens on one inland street and the lanes off it. Jalan Laksmana, listed as Eat Street, runs five to ten minutes back from the beach. Warungs, boutiques and the town's best-known dining rooms sit along it, and Ku De Ta anchors the beach end. 4, 5

For a price anchor at the upper end, Mama San prints one. The Feed Me menu, chef's choice, costs IDR 550,000++ a person for two or more, about USD 30.70 each before tax and service. The room is at Jalan Raya Kerobokan No.135, open daily from noon to 10:30pm, with a Vietnamese lunch menu running to 5pm. 9, 2

Two people on the Feed Me menu spend IDR 1,100,000 before drinks, tax and service, about USD 61. Hold that figure in your head as the top of the strip's mid-to-high range. It is the number that makes the warung two doors down look like what it is. 9, 2

Which part of Seminyak should you stay in?

The walk to a beach club is the thing that changes your day. Two of Seminyak's three rental areas put you within ten minutes of the sand on foot. The third puts you in a car every time. The rent follows the same line. 4

Distances as the rental agency describes them on 26 September 2026. Potato Head and Mrs Sippy sit with the Petitenget clubs, a little north of Seminyak proper. 4

That last row is the one to read twice. A villa advertised as Seminyak on the residential side is a drive from the sand and a drive from Potato Head. Book the area, then the villa. 4

If the week is built around water, stay beachside or in Oberoi and walk to it. If it is built around a desk and a quiet pool, Sunset Road drops the beachfront premium and hands you the difference back. Villas nearer the beach and the main strip cost more, listing for listing. 4

How much does a month in a Seminyak villa cost?

Starting prices from one agency's live Seminyak listings, read on 26 September 2026, with three named listings to show the spread.

A one-bedroom month starts at IDR 17.5 million and a six-bedroom one at IDR 166.78 million. In between the same listings show IDR 25 million for two bedrooms, IDR 27 million for three, IDR 45 million for four and IDR 38.75 million for five. The five-bedroom figure sits under the four-bedroom figure. That is how the live listings print it. 4

Three named listings show what a starting price leaves out. A one-bedroom pool-view apartment on the beachside strip is IDR 18,750,000 a month, free from 22 October 2026. A two-bedroom villa in the same area, pets allowed, is IDR 33,750,000. A luxury six-bedroom in Oberoi, 500 m from the beach, is IDR 166,778,074. 4

The two-bedroom is the number worth sitting with. At IDR 33,750,000 it costs 1.35 times the cheapest two-bedroom start of IDR 25,000,000, and splits to IDR 16,875,000 a person, about USD 942 each. Same area, same bedroom count, a third more money. 4, 2

Most monthly rentals put weekly housekeeping, pool and garden maintenance and Wi-Fi in the base rate. Electricity is sometimes billed separately above a set allowance, so ask where that allowance sits before you sign. MMT's guide to monthly stays against short bookings carries the rest of the checklist. 4

What does arrival day cost?

Two government fees land before you reach the road. Indonesia's Visitor Visa costs IDR 500,000 and permits a 30-day stay. Bali's tourist levy is IDR 150,000, charged once to every foreign tourist entering the island since 14 February 2024. Together that is IDR 650,000 a person, about USD 36.28. 6, 7, 2

  1. Pay the e-VOA

The Visitor Visa fee is IDR 500,000 and the stay it grants is 30 days. 6

  2. Pay the tourist levy

IDR 150,000 per person, one time, in force since 14 February 2024. 7

  3. Book the transfer before you land

One operator's fixed price list charges Rp175,000 from Ngurah Rai airport to Seminyak and Rp225,000 to Canggu, about USD 9.77 and USD 12.56 a car. 8, 2

  4. Decide about a driver for the day trips

A private driver with an air-conditioned car starts at USD 40 a car a day for a 10-hour, 120 km service, fuel included, up to six passengers, with each extra 20 km at USD 5. At the reference rate that day is about IDR 716,680. 10, 2

Seminyak sits between the airport and everywhere else on this coast, which is why it is an easy first week before a month moves on. The Indonesia country guide covers entry across the islands, and Amed for a diving month prices the quiet east coast for the week the south wears thin.

A day out for two, priced

Four published prices, two people, one long day: IDR 2,500,000, about USD 140. Every line below is a figure the venue prints itself. Nothing here is a minimum spend, and any line can come out of the plan. 1, 3, 5, 9, 2

Take out the sunset window, the set menu and the promotion and the same day costs the pool entry alone: IDR 300,000 for two, about USD 17. That is the honest range in Seminyak. The door is cheap. The table is where the money goes. 3, 2

One more line to price before you commit to a month. Every dollar figure here rests on a single reference rate, Rp17,917.00 on 25 September 2026, from Bank Indonesia's JISDOR. Run what a 10 percent currency move does against your own month before you sign a villa contract written in rupiah. 2

Frequently asked questions

Do Seminyak beach clubs have a minimum spend?

Potato Head states that outside 4:00pm to 6:30pm its Beach Club is free to enter, with plenty of seating and no minimum spend; inside that window a IDR 200,000 cover applies and comes back in selected drinks. Mrs Sippy charges IDR 150,000 for pool entry and lets Sports Bar guests in free. Ku De Ta publishes neither a minimum spend nor a daybed price on its own site, so ask when you reserve. 1, 3, 5

How much is dinner on Seminyak's Eat Street?

Mama San's chef's-choice Feed Me menu is IDR 550,000++ per person for two or more, about USD 30.70 each before tax and service. Treat that as the mid-to-high anchor on the strip. Cheaper rooms line the same street and do not post their prices, so treat Mama San as the ceiling and the warung as the floor. 9, 2

What does the ++ on a Seminyak restaurant or bar price actually add?

The ++ after a price at Ku De Ta or Mama San means tax and service are added when the bill is settled. Neither venue publishes the percentage on its own site, so ask what the total comes to before you order. 5, 9

Is a monthly villa cheaper than a Seminyak hotel?

Seminyak's monthly villa listings start at IDR 17.5 million for one bedroom, about USD 977, with a deposit of one month's rent on top. The Seminyak hotels do not publish nightly rates you can check without a date search, so get a dated quote for your own nights and set it against those two lines. 4, 2

What does a monthly villa rate include?

Electricity is sometimes billed separately above a set allowance on Seminyak's monthly villa rentals, so ask where that line sits before you sign. Housekeeping, pool and garden maintenance and Wi-Fi usually sit in the base rate. Inclusions vary from listing to listing and are confirmed before signing, so get them written into the agreement. 4

Is a Seminyak villa's security deposit refundable?

Yes. A security deposit equal to one month's rent is standard on a monthly Seminyak villa, refundable at checkout minus deductions for damage, excess utility use or missing inventory. The exact amount and terms sit in the rental agreement, confirmed before payment. 4

What exchange rate should I budget at?

This page uses Bank Indonesia's JISDOR, the central bank's official reference rate, at Rp17,917.00 per US dollar on 25 September 2026. Card and ATM rates sit away from that number in both directions. Plan on JISDOR and pay on your own bank's quote. 2
