Star Alliance was established in 1997 and lists 26 member airlines, Singapore Airlines and ANA among them 10. Qatar Airways has flown for oneworld since 2013, Japan Airlines since 2007 11, 12. Garuda Indonesia joined SkyTeam as its 20th member on 5 March 2014, the alliance's second member from Southeast Asia 1.

Alliance membership comes from the airlines' and alliances' own pages, except Garuda Indonesia's join date, which comes from a SkyTeam member airline's newsroom because Garuda's and SkyTeam's own sites blocked every attempt to read them on the research date.
The alliance is where partner awards live. ANA Mileage Club members earn and redeem miles across all Star Alliance member airlines, which is how a Star balance reaches Denpasar through Singapore 13. What does a Singapore KrisFlyer award to Bali cost?
KrisFlyer sells the same seat twice. A Saver award asks fewer miles with limited availability. An Advantage award asks more miles, opens more seats on every flight, and includes two free stopovers per round trip 7. Batik Air and Indonesia AirAsia fly Denpasar to Labuan Bajo nonstop; Garuda Indonesia's last scheduled nonstop on that pair was 23 October 2025, so a GarudaMiles plan does not reach Labuan Bajo directly.

Qatar Airways prices its own award seats through a tool, not a public chart. Privilege Club members check Qatar-operated awards in a My Calculator screen that returns a live figure. Only partner awards across oneworld run on a published, distance-based Avios chart 8. Avios is the currency here; Qatar retired its old Qmiles in late 2022 8.
That changes how you plan. For Doha to Denpasar you price the seat in the account, on the dates you want, and write the number down before you transfer anything in. For a oneworld partner routing you read the chart first and work backwards from the distance 8. ANA and Japan Airlines sit in the wrong alliances for this one hop. ANA belongs to Star Alliance and JAL to oneworld, and the schedule shows neither carrier on the Tokyo to Denpasar nonstop 13, 12, 2. A Star or oneworld balance still reaches Bali.
