How much does a Bansko ski month actually cost?

From 3:30 p.m. on the day before you ski, Ski Mania's shop beside Bansko's gondola base station hands over your skis and stores them overnight for free. The town sits on the edge of Pirin National Park. Stay a month and you ski the bright days and sleep in on the gray ones. ²

A month runs on two calendars. Rent counts every night, and the lift pass counts the days you ski. The table below prices the lines Bansko's operators publish, read from their own pages on 13 September 2026. Three lines still need a quote from you: winter housing, food and insurance. ^{1, 6, 10}

Bansko's prices are in euros. Bulgaria joined the euro area on 1 January 2026, with the lev fixed at 1.95583 to the euro. Which lift pass makes sense for your ski calendar?

Count ski days, not nights. On 13 September 2026, Bansko Ski's price page still shows its 2025/26 adult table: €59 for a day, €341 for six days, €859 for the Bansko Twenty and €1,020 for the season, with VAT and mountain insurance included. Plan with these, then check Bansko Ski's price page for the 2026/27 table before you buy. ¹

Against day tickets, the Bansko Twenty pays from the 15th ski day. Buy 14 day tickets and you spend €826, under the Twenty's €859; a 15th brings the tickets to €885. The season pass takes over on day 23: the Twenty plus 2 day tickets costs €977, plus 3 costs €1,036, and the season pass costs €1,020. ¹

Rental and lessons, priced for the coming season

Ski Mania has already loaded its 2026/27 rental prices. An adult set of skis, boots and poles costs €18 for one day and €94 for six, and each extra day adds €15.67. Keep the set for 30 days and that is €94 plus 24 extra days at €15.67, or €470.08. Book online and a further 10% comes off. ²

Lessons

Lessons sit on top of the lift pass and the rental. Ski Mania's prices cover the instruction alone, and its high season runs 23 December 2026 to 20 March 2027. Bansko Ski's own school listed 2025/26 private adult lessons from €105 for a half day to €725 for six days; ask how many hours a day that buys before you compare. ^{14, 1}

How do you price a winter month of housing in Bansko?

Coworking Bansko publishes a €699 month for the off-season. Its Flex Month covers one person for 30 consecutive nights, or €23.30 a night. That buys a private room, housekeeping, 200 Mbps fiber Wi-Fi, the coworking lounge, a sauna and drying room, and the electricity, heating and water bills. ^{6, 1}

Its add-ons show how the property prices extras, and they sit under the same winter exclusion. ⁶

Coworking Bansko and Odaya Hotel share an address and an operator. The nightly booking link on Coworking Bansko's site opens Odaya Hotel, at Glazne, Kir Blago Todev 1, run by Work House EOOD. Odaya shows nightly prices once you pick dates, so run your winter search there too. ¹⁵

For an apartment of your own, the local agency Bansko.Homes rents by the day, the month or longer, with prices on request. Its rentals come with a contract and a declaration for the migration service, for a residence permit. ¹⁶

• The total for your exact nights in euros, with heating, electricity and water named as included or metered.

• A desk and a speed test from the room itself, if you work.
• The refund on an early exit.

How much should you budget for food and transport?

Sofia is about 2.5 hours from Bansko by car, and three operators publish what the ride costs. For one person, the round trip is €90.89 on Bansko Express's shared shuttle, €200 in a Pirin Transfers private car and €216 with Ski Mania's transfer partner once its 20% VAT is added. ^{2, 3, 5, 7, 8}

Food

The Flex Month also prices meals, off-season only. Like the room, its meal add-ons exclude 15 December to 15 April. ⁶

For a winter month, build the food line from your own receipts. Price your first week of groceries in town, keep mountain lunches and evenings out as separate lines, and set the rest of the month from that week.

Can you change your booking if your plans change?

Read the terms as closely as the price. Coworking Bansko's terms, last updated 7 August 2026, set three rules for a long stay. ¹¹

• Bookings are non-refundable by default. ¹¹
• Leave a package of 28 nights or more early, and the nights you used are repriced at the short-term rate, with any refund worked out from there. ¹¹
• A facility closed for maintenance, weather or force majeure brings no refund. ¹¹

Flexibility has a visible price. The Flex Month sells free cancellation for €50, so ask whether a winter booking can buy the same, or book a shorter first stay and extend once you like the room. ⁶

Lift passes are firmer still. Once a card or ticket is used, Bansko Ski keeps the money. It keeps it for unused cards and tickets too when the cause is a power cut, bad weather, a partial closure for security reasons, or damage from poor storage or tampering. ¹³

Every pass includes mountain insurance underwritten by Uniqa, explained on signs at the cash desks of Ulen, the company behind Bansko Ski. Read the sign, then compare it with a winter sports policy. Snowcard, one such insurer, prices by quote and includes £10 million of emergency medical cover and search and rescue as standard. ^{13, 10}

Do you need a visa for a month in Bansko?

Bulgaria follows the Schengen short-stay rule. GOV.UK's advice for full British citizen passports allows up to 90 visa-free days in any 180-day period, and days spent in other Schengen countries in the previous 180 days count toward them. Overstaying can bring a Schengen entry ban of up to 3 years. ⁹

   Add the month to the days you have spent in Schengen countries in the previous 180. GOV.UK's limit for British citizen passports is 90; other passports follow their own government's rule. ⁹

   Get the winter housing quote in writing

   Ask for the exact nights, the heating and electricity terms, the walk to the gondola and the refund on an early exit. Pay once every answer is in writing.

   Book the transfer against your flight

   Bansko Express's shared shuttle runs for flights landing or leaving between 10 a.m. and 11:55 p.m. For other flight times, its private taxi runs at all times. ³

   Reserve rental online

   Ski Mania takes a further 10% off online bookings. Ask it to price all 30 days in writing, since its published menu runs to six days plus an extra-day rate. ²

   Choose the pass when the new prices appear

   Count your ski days again, then pick day tickets, the Bansko Twenty or the season pass. Keep the chip-card deposit receipt: the BGN 5.00, or €2.56, comes back at Ulen's cash desks or card machines. ^{1, 13, 12}

   Insure the gaps

   Ask at a cash desk what the included mountain insurance covers, then build a winter sports quote for your dates. Snowcard's standard emergency medical cover is £10 million. ^{13, 10}
