This page prices one certified recreational diver's month in Dahab: twenty guided dives, the airport transfer and a month's entry permission, read on 22 September 2026. Rooms, food, flights and insurance sit outside that total and need your own quotes.
Picture the month before you price it
Dahab sits on the South Sinai coast, bare hills behind the town and the Red Sea in front of it. Kitesurfers work the bay on the windy days. A month here buys room to sit out a rough morning and dive the good one instead, which is the whole argument for staying put.
The biggest line you can price today is the diving: Scuba Seekers charges €510 for twenty guided dives booked in advance, before you rent a single piece of equipment. The same center publishes what it charges to collect you from the airport. The room is the quote you still have to go and get. 1

How much do dives cost in Dahab?
Scuba Seekers' 2026 menu, read on 22 September 2026: eight package sizes at three equipment tiers, priced per person.
The more dives you book in advance, the less each one costs. A single guided dive with no equipment is €45. Twenty booked ahead are €510, or €25.50 each. The operator puts it plainly on the page: the more you dive, the more you save. 1
| Dives | No equipment (EUR) | Full gear and computer (EUR) | Full DIR gear and computer (EUR) | Per dive, no equipment (EUR) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 45 | 55 | 60 | 45.00 |
| 2 | 70 | 90 | 100 | 35.00 |
| 4 | 130 | 165 | 190 | 32.50 |
| 6 | 190 | 240 | 280 | 31.67 |
| 8 | 240 | 305 | 360 | 30.00 |
| 10 | 290 | 370 | 440 | 29.00 |
| 14 | 390 | 505 | 600 | 27.86 |
| 20 | 510 | 670 | 810 | 25.50 |
Prices are per person on the operator's 2026 menu. The per-dive column divides each package price by its number of dives, rounded to the cent. A refresher, which the center asks for once more than six months have passed since your last dive, is priced the same three ways at €55, €65 and €70. Ask whether tax sits inside the written total you are quoted. 1
Table view: What one dive costs, across eight package sizes at one Dahab center
| Item | No equipment (EUR) | Full gear and computer (EUR) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 dive | €45 | €55 |
| 2 dives | €35 | €45 |
| 4 dives | €32.50 | €41.25 |
| 6 dives | €31.67 | €40 |
| 8 dives | €30 | €38.12 |
| 10 dives | €29 | €37 |
| 14 dives | €27.86 | €36.07 |
| 20 dives | €25.50 | €33.50 |
The gap between the two dots is the rental line: €160 across a twenty-dive package, or €8 a dive. Both dots fall as the package grows, so booking ahead and bringing your own kit stack on top of each other. Source: 1
That €160 is the whole rent-or-carry question. Own a regulator, a suit and a BCD and you keep it, minus what your airline charges to fly the bag. MMT's guide to baggage costs and gear rental tradeoffs runs that comparison. The menu also lists dive-computer hire at €5; ask whether that is per dive or per day. 1
The third column is for one specific setup: a wing and backplate on a single tank, with a computer, at €810 for twenty dives. That is €40.50 a dive, €140 above the full recreational set. Divers who already work in that configuration know whether they want it. 1
Price is the easy half; inclusions are the half that bites. Ask for one written total naming your dates, your sites and your group, with transfers, cylinders and any protected-area charge on their own lines. MMT's guide to how to compare what dive packages include is the checklist to take into that email.
Should you prepay for a dive package?
Twenty dives as one package cost €510; the same twenty as two tens cost €580. A fourteen and a six come to €580 as well. Booking the month ahead is €70 cheaper than arriving and buying in halves, and that €70 is the reward for committing before you have met anyone. 1
| How you buy them | Cost (EUR) | Against one package (EUR) |
|---|---|---|
| One 20-dive package | 510 | 0 |
| Two 10-dive packages | 580 | +70 |
| A 14-dive and a 6-dive package | 580 | +70 |
Every figure is the operator's own 2026 package price at the no-equipment tier. The saving only lands if you finish the dives you paid for. 1
Settle three questions before the money moves: what happens to dives you leave in the water, whether a shortened package reprices at a higher tier, and how illness and weather are handled. Ask for the answers in the same email as the price, and keep it.
A small first booking buys information. Four dives at €130 shows you how the center groups divers, when equipment fitting happens and whether the return times suit your afternoons. Ask in writing whether those four roll into a larger package later. 1
Shore months compete with boats. If a liveaboard week is also on your list, MMT's comparison of liveaboard vs shore diving costs sets the two budgets beside each other.
Choose the center before you sign for the room
The center decides where you walk every morning, so pick it first and let the room follow. The Chamber of Diving and Watersports keeps a directory you can filter to Dahab. Its members work to EN 14467 and ISO 24803 for recreational diving providers, and to ISO 13289 for snorkeling trips. Check that the business taking your deposit is the one on that list. 5
Where and when do divers meet?
The answer sets how far your room can sit from the water, and whether you need a pickup at all.
How are divers grouped?
Experience, pace and group size decide whether a month of guided dives suits you. Ask what happens when you sit a dive out after the briefing.
What does the price include, line by line?
Transfers to the shore sites, cylinders, the guide and any protected-area charge, each on its own line, with the tax position of the total stated.
When is the free dive?
Scuba Seekers lists a cleanup dive every Monday at €0, with recreational gear for it at €10. A free morning shows you how a center runs a group. 1
Then book the room around the answers. A center that meets at 8 a.m. on the shore in front of its own shop asks a different question of your address than one that collects divers from the main road.
What does a month of accommodation cost?
Three Dahab properties listed on Booking.com, read on 22 September 2026, with the thirty-night multiple beside each nightly rate.
Three Dahab places listed on 22 September 2026 span $29.69 to $71.83 a night for two adults. Thirty nights at those rates runs $890.70 to $2,154.90. That is a spread of $1,264.20 inside one small town, on the same date, at the same occupancy. 3
| Property | What the listing describes | One night (USD) | Thirty nights at that rate (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bedouin Stay in Lighthouse 2 | Three minutes' walk from Dahab beach | 29.69 | 890.70 |
| Oia seafront house | Beachfront, terrace, free private parking | 58.32 | 1,749.60 |
| Swiss Royal Dahab | Garden, bar, barbecue facilities, mountain-view patio | 71.83 | 2,154.90 |
These are one-night rates for two adults on a booking site, read on the research date. A monthly rate is a separate quote from the owner, and one adult alone may be quoted differently. The right-hand column multiplies the nightly rate by 30: read it as the ceiling a monthly quote has to beat. 3
Table view: Thirty nights at three Dahab listings
| Item | Value (USD) |
|---|---|
| Bedouin Stay in Lighthouse 2 | $890.70 |
| Oia seafront house | $1,749.60 |
| Swiss Royal Dahab | $2,154.90 |
The gap between the top and bottom bar is $1,264.20, which is more than twice what twenty guided dives cost: €510, or $584.66 at the rate named in the worksheet below. Room choice moves this month further than any dive decision does. Source: 3
Ask the owner to quote the whole stay. The nightly rate times thirty is your comparison; the quote is the product you actually buy. A lower rent with a metered supply is a different product from a room with power included, so put the electricity in the same request.
- One adult, thirty consecutive nights, and the room category.
- The bathroom, the cooling, the kitchen and the cleaning.
- The electricity: included in the rent, or metered, with the unit charge and the meter-reading routine.
- The deposit terms, in writing.
- The amount due before arrival, on its own line.
The distance that matters runs from your door to the meeting point. Picture the walk with a bag of gear on your shoulder. A cheaper room that needs a paid ride on every dive day hands the saving back, so price that ride before you commit to a month.
How should you budget airport and local transport?
Keep two transport budgets, not one. The arrival line runs from the airport to your room and back again. The daily line runs from the room to wherever divers meet. They are separate services at very different prices, and one Dahab center publishes both.
Flights for Dahab land at Sharm El-Sheikh, and the town is a road journey up the coast from there. 2 Scuba Seekers prices that run at €45 each way for one to three people, and €15 a head each way once a party reaches four. Taba is the other way in, at €65 each way for one to three. 1
| Journey | Party size | Each way (EUR) | Priced per |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sharm El-Sheikh Airport to Dahab | 1 to 3 | 45 | Vehicle |
| Sharm El-Sheikh Airport to Dahab | 4 or more | 15 | Person |
| Taba to Dahab | 1 to 3 | 65 | Vehicle |
| Taba to Dahab | 4 or more | 20 | Person |
| Dahab hotel to the dive center | 1 to 4 | 3 to 8 | Vehicle |
Every figure is one center's published 2026 rate, so read it as the number to quote against rather than the town's price. The basis changes with party size: one to three people pay for the vehicle, four or more pay a head. The hotel run varies with distance. A return journey is each way again. 1
A solo arrival pays for the whole vehicle. Two legs at €45 is €90, or $103.18, which works out at €4.50 a dive across a twenty-dive month. Share the van with two other divers and the same return journey is €30 each. 1, 6
- Your flight number and arrival time, and what the driver does if the landing is late.
- How many passengers and how much luggage, with dive bags counted separately.
- The pickup address in Dahab, because a different address reprices the job.
- The return leg as its own quote, on its own date.
- One price per vehicle, in writing, with anything extra named on its own line.
The daily line depends on where your center meets. The same operator moves divers between Dahab hotels and its own shop for €3 to €8 each way, so a day you ride both ways costs €6 to €16. Ask which sites your package already reaches, and which need a journey of their own, before you turn famous names into budget lines. 1

Build the month budget from the quotes you hold
Three lines of this month come to a fixed total today. The rest run by the day or wait on your own quotes. Start the worksheet with the fixed three, and keep the other lines visible so you can see what the month still owes you.
| Line | What it buys | EUR | USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guided dives, booked ahead | 20 dives, no equipment, Scuba Seekers 2026 menu | 510.00 | 584.66 |
| Airport transfer, both ways | Sharm El-Sheikh to Dahab and back, 1 to 3 people | 90.00 | 103.18 |
| Tourist visa on arrival | Up to 30 days, cash at the airport kiosk | 26.17 | 30.00 |
| Priced so far | Dives, the airport run and entry permission | 626.17 | 717.84 |
The visa is charged in US dollars and the other two lines in euros; both columns convert at 1.1464 dollars per euro, the Federal Reserve's rate for 18 September 2026. The transfer is one center's vehicle rate, so a solo traveler carries all of it and three divers split it. Renting full gear and a computer moves the dive line to €670. Ask each supplier whether tax sits inside the total it quotes. Rooms, food, local journeys, flights, insurance and any protected-area charge sit outside this table. 1, 2, 6
- The room. A monthly quote from the owner, set against the $890.70 to $2,154.90 that thirty nights at three current listings would cost. 3
- Local journeys. €3 to €8 each way between a Dahab hotel and one center's shop, counted on every dive day rather than on the calendar month. 1
- The Blue Hole day fee. 20 US dollars a day on the same operator's list, charged on the days your program dives there. MMT's guide to marine park and conservation fees shows how those charges are usually structured. 1
- Food, drinking water and laundry. Track your own first week in Dahab and multiply it; these follow your habits more than the town's prices.
- Flights and insurance. Both sit outside every figure on this page.
- Equipment you buy before leaving. A purchase is cash this month and a planning line for years. Keep the two views apart so it is counted once.
Then stress the two biggest lines. Move the room from the cheapest of the three listings to the dearest and the month moves by $1,264.20. Move the dive package from bare to fully rented and it moves by €160, or $183.42 at the same rate. That ranking tells you where to spend your planning afternoon. 3, 1, 6
Is a month cheaper than two shorter trips?
On the dive lines alone, one month beats two visits by €70, or by €125 when the visits fall more than six months apart. Twenty dives booked as a single package cost €510. The same twenty split ten and ten cost €580. If the two visits fall more than six months apart, each one opens with a refresher at €55, so the two-trip diver buys it twice. 1
| Line | One month, 20 dives (EUR) | Two visits, 10 dives each (EUR) |
|---|---|---|
| Guided dive packages | 510 | 580 |
| Refresher after six months away | 55 | 110 |
| Dive lines | 565 | 690 |
Both columns use the no-equipment tier. The refresher row assumes each visit follows a gap of more than six months, so the single month pays it once and the two-visit plan pays it twice. Flights, transfers, rooms and food sit outside this table, and they decide the real answer. 1
That €70 to €125 is the part of the question this page can settle, and it is the small part. The flight is the lever: one return journey against two, from your airport, on your dates. Two visits also buy the airport transfer twice, at €90 return each time. 1
A month also buys many more nights of room and food than two short visits do. Those nights are why the dive saving rarely decides it. The month wins when you want the time ashore as much as the time underwater, and when one long flight replaces two.
Holding the activity constant across two destinations is a different exercise. MMT's Dahab vs Koh Tao cost comparison runs it.
Entry, insurance and the last dive
The free Sinai stamp covers stays under 15 days; a diving month needs a visa. FCDO tells British passport holders arriving by air at Sharm El-Sheikh Airport that a stay under 15 days at resorts in Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba or Taba earns a free entry permission stamp on arrival. Travel beyond the resorts, or stay longer, and a visa is required. 2
| Entry permission | Where you get it | Cost (USD) | Terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Sinai entry stamp | Sharm El-Sheikh Airport, arriving by air | 0 | Stays under 15 days at the Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba resorts |
| Tourist visa on arrival | Airport kiosk, before immigration | 30 | Cash only, valid for up to 30 days |
| Digital visa on arrival | Cairo airport, since 1 August 2026 | 36 | Card only, including a 6 US dollar digital service fee |
| Single-entry tourism e-visa | Egypt's e-visa portal | 30 | Passport valid at least six months from arrival |
| Multiple-entry tourism e-visa | Egypt's e-visa portal | 65 | Passport valid at least six months from arrival |
The stamp and both visas on arrival are the rules FCDO publishes for British passport holders; other nationalities follow their own. The e-visa fees and the passport rule are the portal's. A thirty-night month needs a visa, not the stamp. 2, 7
Dahab sits in the coastal strip that FCDO's Sinai warnings leave out. FCDO advises against all travel to the North Sinai Governorate, and against all but essential travel to the northern part of South Sinai beyond the St Catherine to Nuweibaa road, except for the coastal areas along the west and east of the peninsula. Dahab is on that east coast. Check any inland excursion against the mapped advice before you book it. 8
Leave 18 hours between the last dive and the flight. DAN puts the minimum preflight surface interval at 12 hours after a single no-decompression dive, and 18 hours after several dives in a day or several days of diving. A month in Dahab is the second case. Decompression dives call for substantially longer, and a trip to altitude inland belongs in the same conversation. 4
Dive accident cover and travel protection are two different products. DAN's dive accident insurance pays 100 percent of eligible accident medical expenses up to US$500,000 and covers divers aged 70 and over, with membership joined first and the insurance added after. 9
DAN's US membership and dive accident insurance are for people whose main home is in the United States or Canada. Everyone else joins one of DAN's international organizations: DAN Europe charges €27.50 a year for membership, with its Sport, Pro and other insurance plans sold separately. 10, 11
Then read your own policy wording for depth limits, emergency transport and the assistance procedure you would actually call. MMT's guide to dive insurance policy wording and coverage lists what the wording has to say before the premium is worth paying.
Frequently asked questions
How many dives make a prebooked package worth it?
The per-dive rate on Scuba Seekers' 2026 menu falls from €45 for a single dive to €25.50 at twenty, in the no-equipment tier. The steepest drop comes first: going from one dive to two takes €10 off each one. Book the number you will actually finish, because the rate only holds when the package is used. 1
Do I need a refresher before the first dive?
Scuba Seekers asks for one once more than six months have passed since your last dive, and prices it at €55 with no equipment, €65 with full gear and a computer, and €70 with full DIR gear. Put it in the budget if your gap sits near that line, and confirm it with whichever center you choose. 1
Can two people just halve a solo budget?
Some lines split; others stay personal. The three room listings on this page are quoted for two adults already, so that nightly rate is shared before you start. Dive packages are priced per person, so €510 each is €1,020 for two. The airport transfer is one vehicle rate up to three people, so two divers halve it. As a pair, you also meet the operator's two-diver basis, so the private-guide supplement is a solo diver's line, not yours. 3, 1
Does a room by the water remove transport costs?
That depends on where your center meets, which may be somewhere else along the shore. What sets the daily fare is the route from your door to the meeting point and on to the sites in your program. One center prices its own hotel pickup at €3 to €8 each way, so read a beachfront address as a shorter fare rather than no fare. 1
What dive sites near Dahab carry an extra fee?
The Blue Hole is the one with a published number. Scuba Seekers' 2026 list names a Blue Hole National Park Fee of 20 US dollars a day, charged on top of any dive package. 1 That is the operator's own figure rather than a confirmed government tariff, so ask your center whether it matches the protected-area authority's published rate, and keep it on its own line. MMT's guide to marine park and conservation fees explains how those charges are usually structured.
Is the free 15-day stamp enough for a diving month?
It covers half of one. FCDO's free entry permission stamp is for stays under 15 days, so a thirty-night month needs the visa: 30 US dollars in cash at the kiosk, valid for up to 30 days. Read the date written on your own stamp the hour you get it. 2
Which DAN membership applies to me?
It follows your main home rather than your passport. DAN's US entity sells membership and dive accident insurance to people whose principal residence is in the United States or Canada, and sends everyone else to a DAN international entity. DAN Europe charges €27.50 a year for membership, with insurance plans sold beside it. 10, 11
Is it worth flying my own gear to Dahab?
Weigh €160 against your airline's baggage charge. That is the gap between a twenty-dive package with no equipment at €510 and the same package with full gear and a computer at €670, which is €8 a dive. Add servicing before departure and the morning a delayed bag costs you a dive. MMT's guide to baggage costs and gear rental tradeoffs runs the full comparison. 1
